MODERNIST TREEHOUSE
NORTHCOTE POINT
Interior Design: Stacey Gillies
Architecture: Malcolm Walker Architects

Nestled in the beautiful and lush native bush of Northcote Point, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of providing interior design services to the homeowners of this gorgeous modernist home I lovingly call the ‘Treehouse’. Working alongside architect Malcolm Walker and the client, the home was stripped back to it’s bare bones in a large scale renovation.
The project resulted in a breathtaking transformation that overlooks Little Shoal Bay. The homeowners now enjoy a space that perfectly marries modernist design with the warmth and comfort of a true sanctuary. The interiors palette mixes painterly colours from beigey pinks, to forest greens with violets accents. Materials in marble, gloss tiles, oak timbers and stainless steel reflect the vision of the client while offering a sophisticated, serene retreat that celebrates the original architectural intent. Materials and finishes needed to be practical for a busy family who love to entertaining while appreciated good design.
The 'Treehouse' stands as a proud example of what can be achieved through thoughtful collaboration, meticulous design, and clients who were happy to trust the process and be pushed creatively. I’m thrilled to have been part of this journey, bringing a cherished modernist gem back to life.
